High performance with low power consumption and operating cost make the LUMATEK Digital Ballast 250W a great ballast for beginner and professional growers of light-sensitive crops.
A ballast is necessary to light high intensity discharge (HID) lamps such as high pressure sodium (HPS) and metal halide (MH) grow lamps.
Depending on the type of crop and light cycle required, ballasts run continuously 8 – 24 hours a day and must therefore be as efficient as possible.
With less energy wasted as by-product heat Lumatek ballasts create more light from less energy consumed.
Conventional core & coil magnetic ballasts waste a large proportion of the energy consumed as by-product heat, can experience a reduction in performance over time and can even catch fire through extended use.
Lumatek digital ballasts control start phases and voltage output via microprocessors which improve lamp performance and less energy is wasted as heat.
Even in long term operation the LUMATEK 250W Digital Ballast will only become lukewarm and has full circuit protection including open/short circuit, over temperature, over/low voltage, end of lamp life/rectification and EMI suppression.
Selecting the Super Lumens (SL) switch setting on Lumatek ballasts boosts power output to HPS lamps by 10% increasing luminosity and PAR/PPF levels. We do not recommend dimming or boosting MH lamps which should be matched with the same power setting (eg. 250W lamp at 250W and 150W lamp at 150W setting).

LUMATEK 400W 240V DIGITAL BALLAST
Lumatek 400W digital ballasts are dimmable and produce consistent stable light output which is ideal for pharmaceutical agriculture, controlled-environment horticulture and other uses where precise regulated output is essential.
Lumatek ballasts are microprocessor-controlled and feature intelligent start with sequential switching to light lamp faster with safe management of inrush current and balanced load across ring circuit to avoid tripping breakers.
When dimming or boosting lamp the ballast uses ’soft dim feature’ to change power output gradually to protect lamp.
This ballast is small and compact in design, operates silently with no noisy fan and only weighs 2.5Kg making it easy to handle and mount.
Lumatek 400W digital ballast is extremely efficient producing very little heat and for safety uses full circuit protection including open/short circuit, over temperature, over/low voltage, end of lamp life/rectification and EMI suppression.
Lumatek use the best quality electronics components and our design ensures longer lamp life with minimum PAR/PPF output loss over time and is dramatically less than traditional magnetic ballasts. Lumatek ballasts light both HPS and MH lamps (please note that Super Lumens (SL) switch cannot be engaged for MH lamps).

LUMATEK Twin 600W 240V DIGITAL BALLAST
The Lumatek Twin digital ballast 600W is two 600W dimmable multi-watt electronic ballast housed in one case and designed to be able to power and control two HPS or MH horticultural lamps independently.
This unit features two separate lamp leads with IEC and two separate output power controllers with four different power settings enabling dimming and boosting power or selecting specific output for different rated lamps.
The Lumatek Twin digital ballast 600W also has separate safety and auto-recovery with full independent circuit protection for each lamp.
